The Matanuska Susitna Valley is

In the fall there is hunting, fishing, berry picking and the Alaska
State Fair. As winter storms move in we have Hatcher's Pass where there is
plenty of snow, for snow boarding, skiing, ice skating, hockey and snow
machining.
Wasilla is packed with interesting history from the gold rush days the
Iditarod, and more. Some interesting museums to visit are, the Dorothy Page Museum, located in Wasilla, the Museum of Alaska Transportation, located near the Wasilla airport and
Wasilla is approximately 40 miles north west from Anchorage, is the home of the
Iditarod,
and minutes from Big Lake, where the Tesoro Iron Dog race
begins, which is a 1000 mile snow machine race through the rugged and
beautiful Alaskan terrain.
Wasilla is close to many other activities, such as festivals, a
performing arts center, library, churches, a new hospital and many
volunteer opportunities to keep you active.
