    The Matanuska and Susitna Valley is surrounded with views of the Chugach and Talkeetna mountains. Located in South Central Alaska, and within driving distance of Anchorage, Wasilla and Palmer still have that “small town” feel and are wonderful places to live.  The Mat-Su Valley has many recreational activities to keep you busy year round. In the summer, there is plenty of fishing, a king salmon derby, many lakes for swimming and boating, and trails for four wheeling, hiking, and biking.  If you are a gardener this could be paradise for you!  In the fall there is hunting, the Alaska State Fair and berry picking.  As winter rolls in, just minutes out of Wasilla and Palmer, at near by Hatcher’s Pass, there is plenty of snow for snow boarding, skiing, and snow machining.  We have many places to enjoy ice skating too!   Wasilla is approximately 40 miles from Anchorage; home of the Iditarod, and just minutes from Big Lake, where the Tesoro Iron Dog Race begins, which is a 1000 mile snow machine race through the rugged Alaskan terrain.   We have many other activities throughout the Valley such as festivals, a performing arts center, many churches and volunteer organizations to keep you busy.  You are only limited by your imagination!  Come to Alaska and let your dreams come true!
